RACESTAK: THE SCIENCE
RACESTAK was based on improving endurance athletes pre workout nutrition by identifying those supplements that had scientific backing in the amounts shown to work. Below you can find out all about the ingredients we’ve selected, how and why they work and in what quantities you likely need to consume them.
ENERGY & REDUCTION OF FATIGUE
RACESTAK contains a combination of Carbohydrates, Caffeine & B-Vitamins to help provide energy and reduce fatigue as you push through your workout.
Carbohydrates readily become glycogen which is what your muscles use to perform exercise. Ingesting carbohydrates immediately before exercise effectively tops up the tank and helps maintain exercise performance for longer.
More than just an energy boost Caffeine works by reducing the perception of fatigue enabling athletes to perform at higher intensities and for longer before performance reduces.
B – VITAMINS
The B-Vitamins Niacin (B2), Pantothenic Acid (B5), Cobalamin (B12), & Pyridoxine (B6) are most well known for their role in energy production helping to break down food and convert it energy for use during exercise. RACESTAK contains 100% of your daily recommended intake of these vitamins.
RACESTAK Contains clinically effective dosages of four performance-enhancing ingredients:
A naturally occurring amino acid that has been thoroughly researched particularly in endurance athletes. Beta Alanine has in studies been shown to reduce exercise-induced fatigue, improves anaerobic exercise capacity, and can accelerate muscle growth.
L-carnitine (or acetyl L-carnitine) is a non-essential amino acid that is famed for its role in fat metabolism. Without L-Carnitine our body wouldn’t be able to use fat as fuel and we would be completely dependent on our limited glycogen stores and protein breakdown for energy, which is far from ideal in endurance or high intensity exercise.
Betaine is a compound found in plants like beets that improves muscle endurance, increases strength, and increases human growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1 production in response to acute exercise.
RACESTAK contains several ingredients which have studies supporting their protective functions during exercise.
Deficiencies are common in modern diets and restoring these levels has been shown to improve athletic performance. There is also a role of magnesium in helping to prevent cramping – the bane of many athletes.
Branch chain amino acids are a group of three essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. They are essential, meaning they can’t be produced by your body and must be obtained from food. BCAA supplements have in some endurance specific studies been shown to decrease muscle fatigue, improve immune function and alleviate muscle soreness.
