THE EVENT GUIDE
Welcome to Fortitude!
We’re absolutely delighted to have you all with us for what we hope will grow to be a great new event on the UK Ultra calendar.
Take your time with the event, remember it’s all about pacing and staying sane, support each other and whatever happens don’t give up. This is all about you vs you.
Hi all the event briefing video is correct for this years event (this year there will be a new medal), the current weather forecast is for highs of 12-14 degrees and lows of 5 degrees. There is also a forecast of light showers through a few hours of the day so please plan layers accordingly.
The Red and Black course are on made tracks and will be solid underfoot suitable for all trainers.
Given the recent weather the blue course will be muddy in places and we would recommend trail shoes where available.
EVENT IN PROGRESS
Please note that during the last lap you will be approaching sunset (18:30), whilst twilight extends in theory around 30 minutes to and hour after the event depending on weather and whilst on course under trees etc it may get dark rapidly. We therefore recommend bringing a head torch to aid the final hours running and for clearing down your stuff on site following the event.
PIPPINGFORD PARK MANOR, NUTLEY, UCKFIELD TN22 3HW
Parking is available free of charge at the venue on the day of the event.
On arrival at the venue please follow signs down to the event village and parking.
The event takes place in a private estate, no cars may be left on site overnight before or after the event.
At registration, you will be provided with everything you need to take part in the event on the day. Please have your ID ready to display when you arrive for the event.
You will be issued with one bib number. Affix your bib number to either a race number belt of a visible bit of kit you will be wearing throughout the event.
You will be provided with a timing chip at registration, please place the timing chip on your left wrist. This will be used to provide you with your finish time for the day. Take good care of it, if you lose it you will be charged £10.
Within the event village there are two key areas the race HQ & Feed Station and the Athlete Area.
Within the Athlete Area there is space for every participant to set themselves up a spot, set up a little tent, a chair or whatever they wish to help them get through the 10 hours. You can also use your car as a base as parking is close to the start/finish.
Unfortunately it is not possible for us to provide cover for everyone but we do offer a dry bag drop at the event HQ if required.
TIMING / RESULTS
Emit will be using a wireless timing system on the day, please wear your timing band on your left wrist. As you move around the course and as you pass key timing points you will see this band flash.
Results will be available on: https://race-results.info
Our medical team will be on standby throughout the event looking for anybody in trouble. In the event of any medical problems please contact the event team. We recommend keeping your mobile phone on you throughout the event so you can easily contact us for support if needed.
Photos from all our events are provided free of charge, to maximise your chance of getting a decent photo keep an eye out for the photographers on course and keep smiling, even when your 6 laps in. You can find the event photos online here in the days following the event: https://www.epicactionimagery.com/full-steam
